Videos I/O-Tube
Overview of the submitted videos for the I/O-Tube. Click on the image to open the video.
Simple and fast! Make a video with your digital camera or mobile phone and show the audience your vision on computer science, explain your poster at Siren 2009, etc. All videos will be shown at the SIREN website and during lunch on November 5. The most original video will be shown plenary.
Topics
The video can concern any subject in computer science. For your inspiration we selected a few videos, categorized in five topics:
- Presenting research results (e.g. explain your poster)
- Why choosing a career in computer science?
- What would be your ultimate research topic?
- A comical view on computer science
Shoot!
A view recommendations to make your video more appealing:
- Know your message!
- Show more than a ‘talking head’
- When presenting research results, show a demo
- Move your camera (but not too much...)
- Think beforehand how to end your video
- Do not shoot your video while sitting behind a computer screen
- Make the video in English
Technical requirements
Preferably the video should:
- not be longer than 90 seconds
- be in H.264, MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 (picture) and MP3 or AAC (audio)
- contain 25 frames per second
- not be bigger than 200 MB
